Why this one
This is the bike for the rider who wants a proper Bosch-powered machine without paying for headroom they will not use. The Performance Line motor delivers up to 75Nm — ample to make hills feel optional — fed by a 600Wh PowerTube neatly hidden in the frame. Shimano hydraulic brakes, a 120mm fork and a nine-speed Cues drivetrain complete a bike that simply works, every ride.
What actually matters on this bike
The motor
Bosch Performance Line, up to 75Nm of torque. In practice that means pulling away from junctions without a wobble, holding pace into a headwind, and reaching the top of the climb ready to enjoy the view rather than recover from it. The 600Wh PowerTube sits inside the down tube, protected and discreet.
The drivetrain and brakes
Shimano’s Cues nine-speed drivetrain gives you a wide, evenly spaced set of gears with the shifting feel Shimano is known for — and with the motor assisting, nine is genuinely all you need. Shimano hydraulic discs on 180mm rotors bring 24.7kg to a halt smoothly, in any weather.
What it is like to ride
At 24.7kg it is the lighter of our two Cube hardtails, with a 120mm SR Suntour fork soaking up potholes, towpaths and trail chatter. Assistance to 15.5mph, no licence, no insurance, no registration — just a bike that flattens your commute and opens up your weekends.

Questions about buying a bike from us
Do I need a licence, insurance or registration?
No. Assistance is capped at 15.5mph and 250W continuous, which makes this an EAPC — legally a bicycle in the UK. No licence, no registration, no insurance, no road tax, no helmet requirement. Riders must be 14 or over.
How far will it actually go on a charge?
Further on the flat, in a low assistance mode, with a lighter rider than any published figure assumes. We do not quote a range number because the honest answer depends on gradient, weight, temperature and which mode you ride in, and a single figure would be misleading in most of those cases.
How assembled does it arrive?
Around 90% built, on a specialist bike courier. Front wheel, bars, pedals and seatpost to fit. The battery ships part-charged, as regulations require — charge it fully before the first ride.
Can I ride it in the rain?
Yes. Motors and batteries on modern e-bikes are sealed against rain and road spray — check the IP rating on the manufacturer’s spec sheet for the exact figure on this model. What matters more in practice: never jet-wash an e-bike. The seals are made to keep rain out, not a pressure washer, and water forced into a motor is not a warranty claim.
Can I pay by finance or Cycle to Work?
No. Neither is available here, so the price you see is the price. Most UK e-bike purchases at this level go through one or the other. If that is how you were planning to pay, it is worth knowing before you get to the checkout.
Can I test ride one first?
Not with us — we are online only and hold no demo fleet. At this price it is worth sitting on one first: Specialized and Cube dealers run demo days, and the frame size you settle on there is the one we will supply. Send us the size and we will confirm it against the geometry chart before you order.
Who fixes it if the motor or battery fails?
The manufacturer’s warranty is handled through their dealer network, and a dealer is not obliged to prioritise a bike bought elsewhere. Tell us and we will open the claim and deal with the manufacturer ourselves rather than send you round the houses. Worth knowing before you buy from any online-only shop, including this one.
What happens when the battery wears out?
Batteries are a consumable. Expect meaningful capacity loss after several hundred full cycles, which for most riders is years rather than months. Both manufacturers sell replacements; that is a real future cost and worth knowing before you buy.
Kit it out
Bikepacking luggage straps to the frame, so it works on a bike with no rack mounts — which is most of these.
