We take one payment method: bank transfer. No cards, no PayPal, no wallets, no finance, and no cash on delivery. That is unusual, so here is exactly how it works and what protects you.
Placing an order costs you nothing and takes no card details. The order is held, we email you, and nothing is despatched until the payment has arrived. You are never asked to pay a courier at your door, and there is nothing stored here that could be charged later.
Bank transfer
- You place the order and it sits as on hold. Nothing is despatched yet.
- We email you the account name, sort code and account number, and your order number as the reference.
- Your bank will run a Confirmation of Payee check. The account name will match the business name we give you in that email. If it does not match, stop and contact us — that mismatch is exactly what a scam looks like.
- When the payment lands we confirm by email and the order moves to processing.
We will never phone you to change bank details, and we will never ask you to send a payment to a different account than the one in your order email. Any message that does either is not from us.
Why no card payments?
Because this site is a school project rather than a trading business, and taking card payments means a real merchant account with real regulatory obligations. We would rather show you two methods that genuinely work than put Visa and Mastercard logos in the footer of a shop that cannot process either.
About the address bar
You may have noticed the site is called Northwild and the domain says gardenforge.co.uk. That is not a redirect and nothing has been hijacked — the domain was set up for an earlier version of this coursework project and was kept when the shop changed. The site, the email address and any bank details we send you all belong to the same place. We would rather explain it than have you wonder.
What you are still owed by law
Paying by transfer or on delivery does not reduce your statutory rights. The Consumer Rights Act 2015 and the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 apply in full: goods must be as described and fit for purpose, and you may cancel within 14 days of receipt — we extend that to 30.
