Last updated 4 August 2026. These terms apply to every order placed through gardenforge.co.uk.
1. Who we are
GardenForge sells robotic lawnmowers and accessories to customers in the United Kingdom. Where these terms say “we”, “us” or “our”, they mean GardenForge. Where they say “you”, they mean the person placing the order.
2. Placing an order
Adding an item to your basket does not reserve it. A contract between us is formed only when we send you an email confirming that your order has been dispatched. If an item turns out to be unavailable, or if it was listed at an obviously incorrect price, we may decline the order and will refund you in full.
3. Prices and payment
All prices are shown in pounds sterling and include VAT at the prevailing rate. Delivery costs, where they apply, are shown before you confirm your order. Payment is taken at the point of order.
4. Delivery
We deliver to addresses in mainland Great Britain, the Scottish Highlands and Islands, and Northern Ireland. Delivery is free to mainland UK addresses. Charges apply to the Scottish Highlands and Islands and to Northern Ireland and are shown at checkout before you pay. Risk in the goods passes to you on delivery.
Models shipped from Germany. Certain models are not held in our UK warehouse and are dispatched directly from the manufacturer’s European distribution centre in Germany. Delivery of these items takes up to 14 days from the date your order is confirmed. Where this applies it is stated on the product page and again in your basket before payment, so the longer lead time is disclosed to you before you commit to the order.
No customs duty, import VAT or handling charge is payable by you on goods shipped from Germany; we account for these ourselves and the price you see at checkout is the price you pay. Where an order contains both UK-stocked and Germany-shipped items, we may dispatch them separately as each becomes available, at no additional delivery cost to you.
Estimated delivery times are given in good faith but are not guaranteed. If we cannot deliver within 30 days of your order, or within any longer period we have specifically agreed with you, you may cancel the order and receive a full refund. This does not affect your statutory rights under section 5 below, and the 14-day cancellation period runs from the day you receive the goods — not from the date you ordered them.
5. Your right to cancel
Under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 you may cancel your order for any reason within 14 days of receiving it. Tell us by email and return the goods within 14 days of telling us. We will refund the price of the goods and standard outbound delivery within 14 days of receiving them back.
Goods must be returned complete and in a condition that allows them to be resold. We may reduce your refund to reflect any loss in value caused by handling beyond what is necessary to establish how the product works. Return postage is your responsibility unless the item is faulty or was sent in error.
We offer a voluntary 30-day returns window that goes beyond this statutory right. Your legal rights are unaffected.
6. Faulty goods and warranty
Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, goods must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described. If a fault appears within 30 days you may reject the item for a full refund. After 30 days we will repair or replace it.
Mowers additionally carry a manufacturer warranty, registered free of charge at checkout. Warranty terms vary by manufacturer and are set out on each product page. Warranties do not cover wear items such as blades, damage caused by impact or misuse, or faults arising from installation that did not follow the manufacturer’s instructions.
7. Installation and safe use
Robotic mowers carry rotating blades. You are responsible for installing and operating your mower in line with the manufacturer’s instructions, including keeping children and animals clear while it is running and isolating the power supply before lifting or cleaning it.
8. Our liability
We do not exclude or limit our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded. Subject to that, we are not liable for losses that were not foreseeable at the time the contract was formed, and our total liability for any order is limited to the amount you paid for it.
9. Your personal data
We process your personal data in accordance with UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018. Details of what we collect, why, and how long we keep it are set out in our Privacy Policy.
10. Complaints and governing law
If something has gone wrong, contact us first and we will try to put it right. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland you may bring proceedings in your local courts.
Note for this project: GardenForge is a student coursework project and is not a trading company. These terms are a realistic template written to reflect UK consumer law, not legal advice, and they have not been reviewed by a solicitor. Company registration number, VAT number and a registered trading address would be required here before any real trading.
